New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1923 210pp. Biography of Thomas Nelson Page (1853 - 1922), an American writer of "postbellum fiction", whose works exemplify the "Lost Cause" ideology of the justification for slavery. He also served as Woodrow Wilson's ambassador to Italy. Inscribed and signed by the author to the front free endpaper: "To W.Frank Smyth Esquire, with the best respects of the author, Rosewell Page. July 2nd 1923 - Tom Page was a great friend of yours". Condition: Covers dust-soiled and showing some wear to the corners.. Signed by author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good.
