New York: Harper and Row, Publishers, 1977. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Octavo, 533 pages. In Good condition with a Good dust jacket. Spine off-white with black lettering. Dust jacket protected with a mylar covering. Mild age toning to the exterior with few, closed chips to the spine edges. Boards show faint sunning with slight wear to the head tail edges. Text block has moderate age toning to the edges. Deckled fore edge. Previous owner's name to the half title page and cracking to the gutter to the rear end papers loosening several pages, which are still present. First edition, first printing. 1372764. FP New Rockville Stock.
Synopsis
The Thorn Birds is a 1977 best-selling novel by Colleen McCullough, an Australian author. In 1983 it was adapted as a television mini-series that, during its television run March 27-30, became the United States' second highest rating mini-series of all time behind Roots; both series were produced by television veteran David L. Wolper. The mini-series starred Richard Chamberlain, Rachel Ward, Barbara Stanwyck, Christopher Plummer, Bryan Brown, Mare Winningham, Philip Anglim, and Jean Simmons.
