Garden City, NY: Doubleday & Company, Inc, 1957. Both volumes are 8vo size beige hardcovers with tan spine with black titles and decorations. There are some small black and white illustrations throughout. All edges are red speckled. The front inside covers have an Etymology Key and Language Abbreviations. The fep has a Complete Pronunciation Key and Foreign Sounds. The rep has a Complete Pronunciation Key and Foreign Sounds. The back inside cover has Abbreviations Frequently Used In This Book. Volume 1: From A-K. 442 pages. Bumped bottom corners. Head and heel of spine are bumped and chipped. The bottom front corner is worn. Pages are toned. There is a two inch tear to bottom of front pastedown. Volume 2: From L- Z. Pagination continues from 443 to 896. Bumped bottom corners. Head and heel of spine are bumped and chipped with a half inch chip missing from top of spine. The bottom front corner is worn. There is a two inch tear at the bottom exterior spine seam. Front pastedown is cracked. Pages are toned. There is an eighth of an inch tear to the top of page 853/854. . Hard Cover. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Set.
