A scarce work.The first edition, first impression.An anthology of fifteen magical poems by Lewis Carroll, many of which had been previously published in the 1869 volume 'Phantasmagoria'.Including 'Three Sunsets', 'The Path of Roses', 'The Valley of the Shadow of Death', 'Solitude', 'Far Away', 'Beatrice', 'Stolen Waters', 'The Willow-Tree', 'Only a Woman's Hair', 'The Sailor's Wife', 'After Three Days', 'Faces in the Fire', 'A Lesson in Latin', 'Puck Lost and Found', and 'A Song of Love'.Illustrated with a frontispiece, and eleven plates, by E. Gertrude Thomson. Two pages of adverts to the rear.Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Spine, front board, and head of the rear board are faded. A few very light marks to the boards. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, title page a little age-toned to the margins. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
