Straight, tight and clean, note and date from previous owner also on front endpaper, light corner and spine end bumps. Dustjacket price clipped, rubs, light edge nicks, small faint stain to front flap, in new Brodart sleeve. The New Zealand-born author and rugby writer who was responsible for a number of well-known urban legends, including the widespread belief that the flush toilet was invented by Thomas Crapper and that the brassiere was invented by Otto Titzling presents a work of detective fiction featuring Detective-Superintendent Keeton and centered on the murder of a young man and his connection to three, very different, society women.
