Narrative of the voyage of the Belgica in the Antarctic under Gerlache, and the only published first-person account of this expedition. Cook served as surgeon and anthropologist, and Roald Amundsen (then little known) was first mate. This second edition from 1909 seems to be an exact reprint except the publisher failed to reprint pages xv-xxiv. From the introduction, not included the four coloured plates and added a frontis portrait of Cook instead. This printing is much scarcer than the original of 1900. 1909
