Not price clipped and with no darkening to spine. An excellent copy. "Thunderball" is the ninth novel in Ian Fleming's James Bond series, first published in 1961. In this thrilling installment, James Bond is tasked with recovering two stolen nuclear warheads before they can be used to wreak havoc on the world. The story begins with the disappearance of a British Vulcan bomber carrying two nuclear bombs. Bond is assigned to investigate and discovers that the warheads are in the possession of SPECTRE, a global criminal organization led by the formidable Ernst Stavro Blofeld. Bond teams up with the beautiful Dominetta "Domino" Vitali and his CIA counterpart, Felix Leiter, as they track down the stolen warheads in the Bahamas and confront SPECTRE's evil plans. "Thunderball" is notable for its underwater action sequences and its introduction of the character Emilio Largo, SPECTRE's ruthless agent. It explores themes of nuclear terrorism, espionage, and the high-stakes world of international intrigue. The novel was later adapted into a successful film of the same name in the James Bond movie franchise.

Synopsis

"The girl looked him up and down. He had dark, rather cruel good looks and very clear, blue-grey eyes. He was wearing a very dark-blue lightweight single-breasted suit over a cream silk shirt and a black knitted silk tie. Despite the heat, he looked cool and clean. 'And who might you be?' she asked sharply. 'My name's Bond, James Bond ...'" When a stranger arrives in the Bahamas, the locals barely turn their heads, seeing another ex-pat with money to burn at the casino tables. But James Bond has more than money on his mind: he's got less than a week to find two stolen atom bombs hidden among the coral reefs. While acting the playboy, Bond meets Domino, sultry plaything of secretive treasure hunter Emilio Largo. In getting close to this gorgeous Italian girl, Bond hopes to learn more about Largo's hidden operation ...
