Royal octavo (9 1/2" x 6 1/4") bound in original publisher's quarter green cloth with gilt lettering to spine over black boards in original pictorial jacket. An account of Heyerdahl's journey on the rivers, oceans, and seas that connected the various centers of ancient Middle Eastern civilization, which are seen to have exchanged many aspects of their economics, arts, sciences, and ways of life. Condition: Spine extremities lightly rubbed and sunned. Jacket rubbed, spine extremes chipped and creased, some edge tears and small chips else very good in a very good jacket.
