New York: Wynwood Press, 1989. First Edition. Near Fine/Very Good. First edition, first printing. Bound in publisher's original ocher paper boards over maroon spine cloth lettered in gilt. Near Fine with slight softening to spine ends, in a Very Good unclipped ($18.95) dust jacket and subtitle "A Novel of Retribution," with light rubbing, edge wear with several short tears and a bit of puckering to the spine panel. One of 5,000 copies of the first edition.

Synopsis

A Time to Kill is a 1989 legal suspense thriller by John Grisham. Grisham's first novel, it was rejected by many publishers before Wynwood Press eventually gave it a modest 5,000-copy printing. After The Firm, The Pelican Brief, and The Client became bestsellers, interest in A Time to Kill grew; the book was republished by Doubleday in hardcover and, later, by Dell Publishing in paperback, and itself became a bestseller.
