Hard cover in very good condition with glossy pictorial boards which mirror the dust jacket. Size approx 8 3/4"" tall x 11 3/4"" wide. End papers contain double wide photo in shades of green of soldiers in a field. Text block clean & tight; no writings, no markings noted. Both color and black & white photographs on almost every page along with the narrative. The back end papers hold a double-sided eight page poster with details and photos of events related to Vietnam spanning the period pre-1954 through post-1975. A tiny version of part of this poster, unfolded, can be seen along the bottom of the front cover. Dust jacket in likewise very good condition with only mild shelf & edge wear. * From the Introduction, ""Vietnam is best known for the period between 1965 and 1973 when the U.S. Military was involved in an unsuccessful effort to support its South Vietnamese allies in a war against the Communist forces of North Vietnam and the Vietcong.
