About This Item

Scholastic, Inc. 1965. Soft Cover. Near Fine. First Edition. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Very very scarce book. A Lucky Book Club edition of this very special book for children, illustrated with a fine selection of drawings by Maurice Sendak. The cover is a tan color with green letters and a little boy in red overalls. The background has a little house, 4 trees, a white goose, a crow in a tree, and a flying bird below t he sun, all this is done in the same green as the title. Original price in 1965 - 50 cents also TJ748 book number. Poor Cicero! Nobody wants to hear him play his new tin fiddle. "What good is a tin f i ddle of nobody will listen to it?" he thinks. But soon Cicero finds out that his fiddle is good for something after all - something very special. Some light browning of page borders. Library stamp o n FFep, but this is NOT a library book. Book was purchased at an event put on at the library where the public brought in their books and the library stamped them all as they were brought in. All creases are very very minor. No tears. 2 light 1" creases on front cover on outside edge. A couple light creases on the front spine edge. The rear cover outside edge has a very slight bump and the bottom outside corner has a light crease. A dirt smudge near the top edge of front cover approx. 1" long. The buyer of this book will be extremely pleased. These flaws are very slight but for the cost I wanted to describe them well for you..
