London: Gollancz, 1935. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. THE ARCHIVE COPY. Publisher's black boards with orange-red spine lettering. ARCHIVE COPY stamp to the title page. A couple of bumps to the boards otherwise a VG+ copy with a touch of foxing to the page block edges and the early/late pages of the book in like D/W priced 7/6 net to the spine as called for. The D/W has a small number 35 in ink at the top right hand corner of the back panel and a very small chip from the bottom right hand corner of the back panel. Features Asey Mayo, the Codfish Sherlock. "Partiality to robe sleuths is essential to the reader's deriving enjoyment from this tale of murder at Cape Cod, where David Truman, insolvent capitalist, is fatally knifed in the back by a hidden hand" - The NY Times.
