Great condition copy of "TOBY TYLER" or Ten Weeks with a Circus by James Otis. Published in 1937 by The John C. Winston Company - "The Children's Bookshelf" series. The book features wonderful color plates and black & white illustrations by Everett Shinn, as well as illustrated end papers. With dust jacket (the jacket comes with a clear protective sleeve - not shown). From the dust jacket: "Toby, a lovable red-haired boy, runs away to join the circus, because he thinks his Uncle Dan'l makes him work too hard. But after ten weeks of hard work under Job Lord, he finds that a circus is not fun at all."
Condition:
Clean covers and spine with no stains; sharp corners. TIght binding. No loose pages. No cracks. The text pages are in terrific condition clean and white with only an ink smudge of page 4; no writing or tears found; light foxing to the end papers and pastedowns...no other foxing found. The dust jacket has a small stain at the top edge; small tears along the perimeter of the jacket as well as at the bottom-right edge of the spine. Light stain at the long edge of the text block. Overall in very good condition.
