About This Item
"TOBY TYLER" or Ten Weeks with a Circus by James Otis with its original dust jacket. Published in 1937 by The John C. Winston Company - "The Children's Bookshelf" series. The book features wonderful color plates and black & white illustrations by Everett Shinn, as well as illustrated end papers in color. From the dust jacket: "Toby, a lovable red-haired boy, runs away to join the circus, because he thinks his Uncle Dan'l makes him work too hard. But after ten weeks of hard work under Job Lord, he finds that a circus is not fun at all."
Condition:
Clean front cover and spine; there are a few small foxing spots on the back cover; sharp corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. The dust jacket has pieces missing at the flap corners, and at the top and bottom edges of the spine; a 2" strip has been clipped at the top edge of the front flap. Overall the jacket is in Good condition. (The jacket comes with a clear protective sleeve - not shown.)
