An extraordinarily detailed volume regarding the people of the undulating plateau of the Nilgiri Hills in Southern India. From the collection of Wayne Prescott Suttles, renowned anthropologist, scholar, and linguist regarding many Pacific cultures, and especially the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast Salish people. His stamp to the ffep. Provenance provided upon request. Ex-library reference book, with some but not all usual treatments. Condition notes: 7545 numbered pp; HB. Pages: clean, bright, tight; several sets of pp are smaller that others and laid in; there are numerous fold-outs. Cover: red, gilt titles spine; v lt shelfwear, extrems slightly worn. A nice copy of this squat, fat volume.
