About This Item
Boston: Little, Brown, 1892. One of the "Military Novels" that Irish author Lever wrote under the name "Harry Lorrequer" as the supposed editor. Lever's popularity in the 19th century rivaled that of Charles Dickens. This is a Near Fine set of the First Edition Thus. Two volumes, 498 pages and 493 pages. Clean and fresh text, very readable today. Little, Brown issued Lever's novels in several bindings, some of them quite nice; these are bound in green cloth with lovely decorations in gilt and a gilt top-edge. Volume Two has a small wrinkle at the top of the front panel, else Fine. No dustjackets. A worthy addition to a fine library. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Thus.. Decorative Cloth. Near Fine/No Jacket.
