Leipzig: Bernh. Tauchnitz Jun., 1848. These are Near Fine copies of the Copyright Edition [stated]. Three small volumes with marbled paper-covered boards and black leather tips and spine. Titling on the spine in gilt within red labels; five raised bands; highly decorated in gilt. Clean texts. Volume One has a Dedication ("To Miss Edgewoth") and a "Prefatory Epistle from Mr. Burke." x, 381 pages. Volume Two is 394 pages; Volume Three is 410 pages. Green endpapers. Bookplate on the front paste-down for Frederica Sofia Broke. [b. 1791], an Englishwoman who published "An American Tour" in 1834. Some occasional spotting and with touches of rub to the margins; an exceptionally attractive set.. First Thus. Quarter-Bound. Near Fine/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
