London: Sampson Low.. Very Good- in Very Good- dust jacket. 1954. 1st UK Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. 044809102X . A very good minus hardback book with NO inscriptions or other marks. Clean, tight & virtually unworn but with age browning to the page edges. Blue covers, with deep dark blue titling and picture of Tom Swift on the front. In the original unclipped dust-jacket (original price 5/-) which has a few very small 'closed' nicks near the top & bottom of spine, and some very light rubbing along top and bottom edges - negligible. Front of the d/j shows a submarine surrounded by an Octopus. The dust-jacket is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks VG. Undated, carries only the 1954 copyright date of the original US Grosset & Dunlap edition - this UK edition is probably a little later? . Slight tan offsetting to the pictorial endpapers, but o/w internally Fine. 192 pp. Illustrated with a full page b/w frontispiece and other b/w illustrations in the text by Graham Kaye. Tom Swift is the main character of five series of American juvenile science fiction and adventure novels that emphasize science, invention, and technology.
