New York: McLoughlin Brothers, 1868. Paperback. Good -. [8] leaves: hand-colored illustrations; 24 cm. Pink wrappers, with front wrapper illustration of Tom Thumb riding a saddled mouse. Electrotyped by Vincent Dill, 25 & 27 New Chambers St., N.Y. -- back wrapper. No date of publication. McLoughlin Bros. published at 30 Beekman St., the address on the front wrapper, from 1864 to 1870, and Vincent Dill's business address changed to 25 & 27 New Chambers St. in 1868. Part of the publisher's Cinderella Series. Wrapper title. First leaf and last leaf pasted down to wrappers; printed sides of leaves facing each other. Publisher's advertisement on back wrapper. Back of third leaf bears gift inscription to Margaret B. Sheaffer, dated 1872. In Good- Condition: wrappers separated long ago and have old stitched repair; wrappers are lightly soiled; back wrapper faded along upper and spine edges; 1-cm. tear from lower edge of front wrapper, without loss; 6-cm. tear from fore-edge of back wrapper with minor loss from publisher's advertisements; 3-cm. tear from fore-edge of 3rd leaf, without loss; 1-cm. tear from fore-edge of 6th leaf, without loss; shadow from old tape, since removed, around most tears; light finger soiling throughout. Complete and bright.
