Large quarto, two volumes, xx, 441 pages with 133 illustrations plus 26 plates (2 in colour, some folding); and the matching portfolio containing 196 full-page plates (loose, as issued) and the list of plates (a 14-page booklet). Quarter contrasting cloth; the text volume has two tiny punctures to the top edge of the front board, with the bottom edge slightly marked and unevenly tanned; the portfolio is a little marked and tanned on the top and bottom sides; plates slightly offset, with one plate marked on the verso with a cross; small name-stamp in each volume; an excellent set with the plain dustwrappers a little creased and marked, with small closed tears. The two parts constitute Volume 1 in Bollingen Series XL: Egyptian Religious Texts and Representations. Alexandre Piankoff has also contributed introductions to several sections. [2 items].
