About This Item
Early, cheap reprint of the 5th Nero Wolfe novel (and one of the best for the cooking aficionados). Wolfe leaves NY to go to a meeting of top cooks, and murder ensues. This is in the same format as the hardcover, with an orchid on the spine and everything -- but the paper is quite oxydized, brown and becoming brittle. This is not an edition for the ages. The spine is bumped top and bottom, but the binding is not slanted or weak in any way. The jacket has a crease down the front, is missing some chips at the top and bottom of the spine, has a small closed tear at the lower rear backstrip, and has faded on the spine: the front is still quite bright. Some creasing and slight staining on the flaps, Generally a quite acceptable copy of this reprint, a great place-holder for someone who's saving up for the much more expensive first edition. I will put a jacket protector on if you request it, but I find they tend to spring the binding on this sort of book. More info or pictures available on request.
