About This Item

NY: Amerling Hollander, 1966. Soft cover. Very Good. NY: Amerling Hollander, 1966. [16]pp; b&w illus. 4to; side-stapled in illustrated card wraps. Light crease along spine; mild toning to wraps. Very good. Apparently the third and fourth installments of this self-published periodical primarily devoted to transcribing the lyrics and music of various songs of the era. This issue notable for a one-page interview (apparently original) with New York experimental rock group the Fugs, in which band members Ed Sanders, Tuli Kupferberg, and Ken Weaver answer questions with brief ironic brio, e.g., "Ed, how would you describe the group? "I guess a good general description would be, a bunch of left-wing creepos." Other content includes an Izzy Young article on Bob Dylan reprinted from The East Village Other, a memorial of bluesman Mississippi John Hurt reprinted from The New York Times, and transcriptions of songs by Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton, Buffy Sainte-Marie, et al. A rather uncommon publication; OCLC locates only two institutions with holdings of any issue.
