No owner inscrptn and no price-clip to storyboard panelled,colour pictorial artwork illustrated front free endpaper and pastedown.Bright,crisp,clean,sharp-cornered,indent/scoring-free,glossy paper-covered boards with repeated colour pictorial artwork illustration of Beryl putting assorted TOPPER characters dolls up on a shelf to both covers,a blue spine/backstrip with white letters,rear board illustration repeated from front board; all with negligible shelf-wear,bumping,creasing to edges and corners - very miniscule edge wear and rubbing to head+foot of spine/backstrip and corners' tips,but no major nicks,tears or splits present.Top+fore-edges bright and clean,without blemish; contents bright, tight,clean,solid and sound - pristine - no dog-ear reading creases to any pages' corner tips - appears unread apart from my own collation.UK,slim Qrto HB, no dw/dj,as issued,1st edn,92pp [unpaginated] includes colour pictorial comic strips/stories mostly of new characters.
But for the minor exterior detractions grading would be nearing as new and MINT.
Of the comic's cover's stalwart characters from the comic's inception until its cessation in 1990: only Beryl the Peril,and Foxy,appear in this annual. The 'TOPPER BOOK' was a British child's comic book/annual published from 1954-1994,to tie-in with the children's comic 'The Topper',a UK comic published by D. C. Thomson & Co.,Ltd.,that ran from 7 February 1953 to 15 September 1990,when it merged with 'The Beezer'.
The first twelve editions were undated, and later books were published with the date of the following year on the cover,since they were traditionally published in the autumn and in time for Christmas gifts.
Originally called THE TOPPER BOOK with no year at the end of its title,the book was printed in landscape format as opposed to portrait format - the traditional vertical shaped formats like like the BEANO and DANDY annuals.It changed to portrait in 1960. Although 'THE TOPPER' merged with 'The BEEZER' in 1990,the annual continued for a few years afterwards. The 1994 annual,published in 1993,was the last one - see my book ID rja969721 for an exceptional example.
