First edition, sole printing, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR; large 8vo; contents somewhat browned, foxing to preliminary and terminal pages; publisher's pictorial green boards printed in blue, red and yellow, upper joint split but holding, extremities rubbed and chipped, more so spine extremities, upper part split with glue residue from an old repair, otherwise a good copy.
With the author's signed presentation inscription to the front free endpaper, 'Burr from D.H.L.' No equivalent UK edition exists and no other lifetime printing was made in America; inscribed examples are of the utmost scarcity.
