Internally, [5], (vi-viii), [1], 2-416 pp, [1] errata, top edge cut, remainder not, 1 pagination error (213 as 113), new endpapers, evidence of bookplate removal, some light odffsettingm occasional ink marginal note, printed by H Baldwin and Son, Union-street, Blackfriars. Title continues: Principally Undertaken with a View to Botanical Researches in That Alpine Country: Interspersed with Observations on Its Scenery, Agriculture, Manufactures, Customs, History, and Antiquities. Evans, was also a schoolmaster, topographer, and sometime resident of Bristol. He was the author of Letters Written during a Tour through South Wales (1804). He also wrote volume 12, on North Wales, and contributed to volume 11 of The Beauties of England and Wales, compiled by E. W. Brayley and J. Britton. See ODNB.

Bathurst was a politician who inherited Lyndey Park, an impressive estate in the Forest of Dean. In the original paper covered boards. Externally, front board is detached but present. Rear joint is starting. Lacking some of the backstrip to the head and tail. Minor bumping and loss of paper to the extremities. Boards are spotted, spine a little age-toned.
