Newspaper clipping of Richter's Pulitzer Prize announcement is affixed below inscription, while prev owner's small ex-libris affixed above inscription. Red cloth with blue and black decoration in pictorial dj. Good (foot of spine bumped; edges and some corners rubbed; significant dustsoiling to top of text block; toning to rest of text block; foxed as usual) in fair dj (heavily chipped on most edges and especially at head of spine; edges worn, torn, and creased; significant crease to foot of rear cover; significant toning inside; some offsetting inside). The third installment in Richter's Awakening Land Trilogy for which Richter won the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction in 1951. Signature of Richter in strong blue ink, stating "Inscribed to Mrs. William E. Hall with good wishes". Inscription is to same owner as stated in Ex Libris, and address of Ex Libris matches that of newspaper clipping below, which makes note of Richter's fondness for Albuquerque. 433pp.

Synopsis

The Town is a novel written by Conrad Richter in 1950. It is the third installment of his Awakening Land trilogy, and was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1951.
