First volume is SIGNED in bold pen "Aloysius Horn" with the original owner's inscription: "Dear Dad Vermillion: I met this interesting old adventurer when he was here and I had him autograph this copy of his book for you. Affectionately Will 1929." No edition remarks. Vol. 2, "Harold the Webbed, or The Young Vykings" was published by Simon and Schuster, New York, 1928, and is a 1st printing of the 1st edition. Vol. 3, "The Waters of Africa" was published by Simon and Schuster, New York, 1929 and is a 2nd printing. First volume is a 12mo. in dark green cloth with a black title and illustration; vols. 2 and 3 are 8vos in brighter green cloth with gilt titles and copper designs. Maps of Africa comprise the eps. Set is in very good- condition (cocked, bumped, rubbed, faded; boards bowed, vols. 2 & 3; edges stained and dustsoiled), in good+ djs (chipped, torn and creased; spines faded and toned; vols. 1 & 2 marked on front panel; light stains).
