Paris, Samson, 1767.. later edition. Hardback. Near Fine/No Jacket. Second Edition 1767 Paris. Later half chestnut morocco over buckram, additional end blanks (retaining originals), title and 6 or so plates with light marginal spotting (see photos), textblock clean. Bound without half title else complete copy with 17 folding plates xxvii 308pp xxxvi 12 (ads dated 1827), and 17 folding plates bound at rear. Lepaute was one of the most important innovators in clockmaking in 18th century France, and was responsible for the pin-wheel escapement and one-wheel clock.
