Philadelphia: David McKay, Publisher, 1889. Dr. Napheys (1842-1876) marketed his book on male sexuality to the Protestant Christian community, where it was immensely popular. He was an early Eugenicist, which he combined with "...sociology, animal breeding, Christian faith, and good old 'common sense.'" This is a Very Good (plus) copy of a Later Printing of a "New Edition." Brown decorative cloth binding, ruled in black, with gilt titling on the spine. The front cover has a gilt decoration with the motto (Knowledge is Safety." Clean text; 1v, 362 pages, and 31 pages of "Testimonials" in the rear. Indexed. Contains an Author's Preface and an Editor's preface from 1878. Slightly dusty paqe edges; front gutter has cracked, but seems to be holding well. . Later Printing. Decorative Cloth. Very Good (Plus)/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
