Delightfully illustrated in oranges/browns by many different artists, with colors still bright and clear. and b/w drawings. Blue cloth binding with gold titles and paste on picture of a hunter in the woods, rubbed. There is wear with some scuffing to the extremities of this older, intriguing book; the sewn binding is tight and solid. Endpapers illustrated in black, orange and green, of knights and a Viking ship. Color illustration on the title page. Pages are quite clean with no underlining or highlighting, no notes or marginalia. All pages present and intact. Contents are varied and wonderfully illustrated: Adventures of Perseus, A Greek Myth; Boyhood of Buffalo Bill; Gideon, The Warrior; Peer Gynt, from the play by Ibsen; Labors of Hercules; and many more. 224 pages. 7.25 x 9.5 inches. 1937, The Bookhouse for Children Publishers, Chicago, Illinois, USA
