NY: The Macmillan Company and National Gallery of Art. Fine with no dust jacket. 1962. Stated First Edition. 1. Hard Cover. Publisher's full black cloth, gilt lettering on spine, gilt lettering and Eagle medallion on cover, gilt; gray printed endpapers. Elephant Folio (approx 11.5 x 15.25"). 183 pp. Lavishly illustrated with 85 reproductions in color of works of art in the Gallery's collection accompanied by comments drawn from a variety of sources and a note giving its date, provenance and other information. The color plates were produced from separation negatives made directly from the original paintings. The proofs were corrected against the paintings themselves as often as necessary to insure the highest possible degree of color fidelity. Printed on heavy, glossy stock. Top edge of boards lightly sunned, else as new. FINE. Quite heavy.. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall .
