Book Condition: Very Good +; repaired small tear to cloth on rear board; chemical remnant on fly pages from tape used to hold DJ cover in place; no glue on pages. DJ: Very Good; NOT Price Clipped ($10.00); light bumping to head, tail, and tips. Blue cloth boards and spine with bright silver lettering on the spine. 184 pp 4to. It is surprising how much humor was produced during the Civil War but the public did need laughter as release from the stresses produced by the conflict, a vent for partisan hostility, and the role of self-criticism. A panogramic view of the conflict evolves from the light side of the graphic and literary arts of the period. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
