New York: Random House. Very Good+ in Good+ dust jacket. 1946. First Edition. Hardcover. Stated first printing. A collection of 50 songs by American songwriter Stephen Foster (1826-1864). Many of these songs became favorites of the American people and are still enjoyed in the 21st century. Includes his "My Old Kentucky Home", "Camptown Races", "Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair", "Beautiful Dreamer" and many more. With a foreword by Deems Taylor, historical notes by John Tasker Howard. Songs arranged for piano by Ray Lev and Dorothy Berliner Commins. The music is accompanied by 50 illustrations by William Sharp. --- In green paper-covered boards backed in burgundy cloth, with spine titling in gilt and green topstain. The book is wrapped in a green dust jacket with color image of a group singing around a campfire. --- Volume is tightly-bound and unmarked, though with a little age-toning to leaves. Dust jacket with chipping and small tears along edges but mostly intact and wrapped in removable archival mylar protector.; Quarto - 11 to 13 in. tall; 222 pages .
