The second edition. In the original pictorial cloth binding with gilt lettering. Illustrated by John Pedder, H Shephard Dale, Geo. Bickham and the author. With a monochrome frontispiece, twenty eight full page plates and numerous vignette illustrations. Collated complete. A collection of letters written by W. S. Caine from his journey around the world, travelling from the UK to Canada, into Asia, Japan and India. In the original pictorial cloth binding. Externally, smart with some shelf wear to the edges. Bumping and some tears to the spine. Fading to the spine. Some marks to the boards. Hinges strained. Internally, binding strained towards the centre but otherwise firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with a few occasional marks. Blue ink mark to page 94. Some spotting towards the front and rear. Previous owner's ink inscription to the front half title page. Very Good
