About This Item

New York:: Golden Press,, (1959.). Hardcover -. Near fine in near fine dust jacket (usual toning to the pages, dust jacket beginning to delaminate on the flaps but still bright and attractive, a tight straight copy) . Hardcover - first thus. Uncommon edition with the diamond-spine dust jacket by Herbert Tauss. The dustjacket has a synopsis on front flap, price of $1.00, and the 1959 date. The rear flap 'about the author' and 'about the artist', illustrator Mary Stevens. Bound in red and pink diamond patterned boards, with green and white diamond endpapers. One of a series of books issued by the Golden Press in a more deluxe - and at $1 a more expensive -format. Although the back cover of the book mentions eight titles as the "first" in this new series, as far as I know these were the only titles ever issued - and this was the only Trixie Belden book issued in this format. 282 pp.
