First and only separate life-time edition of Russian all-time favourite playwright Alexander Ostrovsky (1823–1886).
Rare lithographed edition (from the manuscript text) of a play Hard-earned Bread used in theatre rehearsals.
The play was first performed at the Maly Theater on 28 November 1874. This edition was signed by censorship on 21 December.
Very rare.
