About This Item
London: Cape, 1969. A first edition, first printing, published by Cape in 1969. A very good book without inscriptions with a thin stain to the text block. Spotting to the top edge and some spotting to the prelims. In a very good (or better) unclipped wrapper with some spotting to the edges and a small circular stain to the rear panel - some light wear to the edges and spine tips. A pleasing example. There was a film featuring a man who was good at playing a cowboy. In fact, there were two films.
Synopsis
True Grit tells the tale of fourteen-year-old Mattie Ross from Dardanelle, Arkansas, and how she sets out to avenge his death at the hands of a no-good outlaw. She manages to illicit the help of hard-drinking Marshal Rooster Cogburn in her quest.
