Denzil Holles, the 1st Baron Holles, was an English statesmen of the seventeenth century. He was one of the Five Members whose attempted arrest by Charles I led to the English Civil War.Register runs as [1], B-F4, G2.Collated, complete.Bookplate of David Laing Philips to the front paste down. Rebound in marbled paper wraps. Externally, smart. Very light edge wear and rubbing to the wraps, with a closed tear to the rear wrap. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned with some spots and handling marks. Chip to the tail of the title page. A little closely trimmed to the head, affecting only the pagination. The occasional ink note to the margins. Repair to leaf F1. Good
