Kerby and Endean. London. 1879. FIRST EDITION. 4to. (10 x 7.7 inches). 80pp. Frontis and 27 full page illustrations, all within decorative border, by Catherine Ellis. A clean fresh copy. Publishers dark blue cloth with gilt and black lettering and full illustration to the front board. Spine lettered in gilt. Rear board with blind stamped double rule border and publishers device to the centre. Brown coated endpapers. Inner front hinge cracked but still firm. Overall a near fine copy. --- A scarce and unusual book of Satyrical political verses with all the characters being pigs and set in Ham(p)shire. Copac lists just five physical copies of this first edition.
