New York: Minton, Balch & Company, 1934. First Edition. Cloth. Very good/very good. Scarce first edition of Tugboat Annie by Norman Reilly Raine in publishers first state dust jacket.. Octavo, [6], 313pp. Blue turquoise cloth, title in black. Publishers device on title page and no additional printings listed after 1934 on copyright page. Some spotting along top edge of text block. In publishers pictorial dust jacket, $2.00 on front flap, wear at seams and rubbing to back panel, some loss at bottom of spine, bright illustrations. A scarce first edition in the publishers dust jacket. Tugboat Annie first appeared as a series of stories in the Saturday Evening Post. The series was converted into a film by MGM Studios in 1933 and starred Marie Dressler and Wallace Berry. A sequel was released in 1940 called Tugboat Annie Sails Again starring Jane Wyman and Ronald Reagan. A third film called Captain Tugboat Annie was produced in 1945.
