On October 11, 1923, three young brothers attempt to rob a train carrying mail across the country. Using too much dynamite, everything of value was lost, four people were killed. An elaborate investigation ensued; the brothers were not caught until 1927. Ironically, the misadventure targeted f Southern Pacific's Train #13 as it was maneuvering Tunnel #13 just south of Ashland, Oregon in the Siskiyou Mountains.
