About This Item

New York: Little Brown & Co., 2008. First Edition, First Printing. . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Thirty-five years ago on a hot summer afternoon, three Washington, D.C., teenagers rode into an unfamiliar neighborhood and changed six lives forever. Today, one survivor of that afternoon reaches out to another survivor, a move that could lead to salvation. But a third survivor, just out of prison, has a burning need for retribution any way he can get it in this novel of a crime, of loss, of victory and violent redemption. Another very good book from one of America's best crime writers. A lower corner crease on the title page, o/w boards and text are clean and unmarked, tight and square, not remaindered. The dustjacket shows some very light surface and edgewear, no tears, no creasing or chipping, not price-clipped. A collectable copy from a collectable author.

Reviews

On Oct 6 2010, Ccqdesigns said:
This book was not what I expected at all. It was not the usual murder mystery, but the story of how one afternoon, 6 hotheaded teenagers and drug and alcohol can change many lives forever. The story follows the families of everyone involved in "the incident". It exposes hatred, anger, love and immense sacrifice. It was only the ending that felt wrong to me. It felt unnatural and forced like the author got to a certain point and just wasn't sure what to do from there.
