A positive view of the "Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution" in China, written soon after the events, by the author of Fanshen (his account of land reform in a Chinese village after the 1949 victory of the Communists). 112 pages, shelf wear, crease to spine, tan stain on inside cover/ffep from laid-in newspaper clipping, binding tight, marginalia in pencil on approximately 20 pages. The clipping, an NYT Book Review review of Fanshen by Benjamin Schwartz, conveys with this book.
