TV Digest, 1951. Softcover. Very Good. TV Digest Week of Sept 29, 1951, Vol. 5, No 39 issued in Philadelphia, PA. Cover is comedian, actor and artist Red Skelton, and is featured in the issue. Red Skelton entertained television viewers for 20 years. In 1969 Skelton wrote and performed a moving monologue about the Pledge of Allegiance during which he commented on the meaning of each phrase of the pledge. He performed the monologue for President Richard Nixon at the first "Evening at the White House," a series of TV entertainment events honoring the recently inaugurated president. This issue includes an article and a map illustrating the first week that live commercial television shows arrive coast-to-coast. Betty Furness is the author of an article titled "Giving A Party?" and offers her advise on giving the best party. Issue includes weekly TV show listings, Letters to the Editor, mid-century period ads, Sports Glimpses, The Ghost Rider Club Bulletin, and more. 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". 31 pp. Tight, clean copy with light shelf wear.
