San Francisco; San Pedro, CA: Sailors' Union of the Pacific, 1938. Group of forms, the largest of them 5x3.5 inches, all shoring contributions made by Frank Kallio to the union. They include a receipt for $1 to the Modesto Defense Fund in 1935 (when maritime workers showed solidarity with eight co-unionists charged with plotting to dynamite Standard Oil property), a receipt for dues paid to the San Pedro branch in 1936, two contributions to the Sailors' Union Emergency Fund at that branch, a $5 strike assessment at the SF branch in 1937, and another in 1938; several Emergency Fund contributions to the SF branch, and a burial assessment in 1938. Kallio is a Finnish surname.
