London: Macmillan and Co., Limited, 1926. First Edition, Second Impression Second Impression . Full Leather. Very Good Minus. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Kipling, J. Lockwood; Drake, W. H.. Second impression (1926) of the first thin paper edition (1924). Publisher's deluxe binding of soft red leather over flexible boards, with gilt lettering and vignettes to upper board and spine. All edges gilt. Illustrated with colour frontispiece of Akela the Lone Wolf, and lots of b/w drawings by J. Lockwood Kipling and W. H. Drake. vi, 576 pp. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Spine leather is less polished than boards but still bright with a few marks. A little fading and rubbing to the edges of the boards, and a small tear to the spine head. Minor scratching to gilt page edges with slight dust-soiling to top. Ribbon marker present but detached. Very light spotting to endpapers; contents clean without inscriptions, foxing or other markings. A very attractive copy. Additional photos available on request or these can be viewed on my listing.
