London: Routledge, 1942. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. (London: Georges Routledge & Sons 1942). First UK Edition. Publisher's pale-blue boards with black lettering to the spine. The cloth is bright, clean and fresh. A VG copy (spine tips a trifle tips; a former owner's neat name and place in ink to the front free end-paper; a small area of discolouration to the front paste-down (possibly caused by glue when the book was manufactured; and a tiny burn mark to the FFEP. The dustwrapper is priced 8s net. to the inside flap (as called for) and has a slither of loss at the spine tips (not affecting any lettering), a couple of short, closed edge tears and some minor marks to the panels. A scarce wartime Simenon first edition. Photographs/scans available upon request.
