London: Jonathan Cape, 1930. Liam O'Flaherty (1896-1984) wrote this autobiographical work just after his famous IRA novel "The Informer" (winner of the Tait Prize) was filmed by John Ford.This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition, an uncommon title in the O'Flaherty canon. Blue-gray cloth binding with gilt lettering on the spine. Clean text; 351 pages. This copy has been SIGNED by the author on the FFEP. Laid-in at the rear paste-down is a postal card ad to order books from the publisher. The lower corners are bumped and there is sunfade around the margins. The dustwrapper is complete, but in fragile condition, with splits at the corners (now held together with the archival plastic protector); its spine is darkened but the lettering is perfectly clear. A portrait sketch of O'Flaherty by F.A. Coventry graces the front cover Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Signed by Author. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good.
