Clean inside and out, no discernible wear to the bright, blank white cloth over boards, bright and shiny dust jacket, protected, clean, tightly bound interior but for final endpaper showing ink-stamp and remains perhaps of a bookplate, ink-stamp along top edge denoting ex-library status, but unobtrusive. Hundreds of illustrations augment the learned text. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography.
