Eleven black and white photographs, mostly measuring 8.5" x 6.5," with one measuring 6.5" x 6.5." They show British Petroleum photo documentation of BP Forties Field drilling platform in United Kingdom, North Sea, in 1974. Photos focus on the jacket section of the production platform immediately before the platform is lowered to the seabed and while being lowered. July-October 1974. Oil production of this field began in 1975. The Forties Oil Field is considered the oldest and largest oil field in the North Sea.
